The Safe Harbour’s Objectives:
- We operate a model Adoption Centre for homeless cats, which provides them with optimum home-like conditions,
- We provide abandoned or maltreated cats and dogs with comprehensive veterinary care (i.e. medical treatment, neutering/spewing, flea treatment, de-worming, vaccinations),
- We provide loving human care, and mental well-being to all animals waiting for help in makeshift shelters,
- Depending on the available resources, we provide emergency assistance to animals in need, as well as advice to their casual caretakers,
- We co-operate with several veterinary clinics in Warsaw,
- We provide temporary shelters for stray dogs and cats, sick animals, as well as post-neutering care,
- We find responsible and mindful ‘target’ caretakers for homeless cats and dogs,
- We look for new contacts, exchange information, provide telephone advice, and arrange for help needed by pets outside the Foundation,
- We promote the so-called ‘virtual adoptions – finding sponsors for a chosen cat or dog being in the Foundation’s custody. You do not even have to leave your home. You do not have to look straight into the pet’s eyes, either. Yet, you can always offer your virtual support to one of the great many homeless pets. Suppose that someone hurt you in such a way. And imagine that you simply do not have anyone to turn to ask for help.
